SkyDrive – SkyDrive is free web storage service from Microsoft. SkyDrive provides 25 GB of free storage. You need windows live id to access the service. Just like all other windows live services, you can use standard or enhanced security (http or https) to logon.

ADrive – ADrive provides 50 GB of free storage. You do not get secured access with free account. Secured access and other cool features such as desktop access, multiple sessions etc comes at the monthly price.

Box.net – Box.net provides a free lite account that comes with 1 GB space and host of other paid accounts.

BOXSTR – Boxstr.com provides 5 GB of free storage.

Mozy – Mozy.com provides 2 GB of free storage. You need a paid account, if you ant more. Secured access is provided.

orbitfiles – orbitfiles.com provides 6 GB of free space and option of paid account for more space.

humyo.com – humyo provides 10 GB of free space and option of adding more storage.

Storegate – It provides 2 GB free storage and option of paid account for more storage.

Other than these there are many more paid services for online backup. Carefully look at your need and choose a service that fits the need. Price, Secure access, company brand, overall storage and individual file sizes should all pay a key role while deciding the service.

The primary improvement has been access to other apps thru Yahoo Portal such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogs. You can add apps in the left side panel from Yahoo gallery or just type website URL of website and yahoo will add the widget.

Yahoo will normally add a Preview, About Page, Search Box and Recent Feed. The approach works great for Blogs and News site. It also adds a drop box if multiple feeds are found.

However approach fails for other interactive apps such as Google Finance.

I was looking for it everywhere in Webmaster account but cannot find it anywhere. The widget has been removed.

After looking for sometime, it looks like Widget has been removed from Google Webmaster Central. However, it can be found at Google Support. You do not need to sign up/sign in to Webmaster account to get the 404 page code.

Even though, Search Engines do provide way to search documents and specific file types. Documents require different viewing options as compared to regular web search. That is where Outwit Docs is useful. Searching for documents will be as easy as searching documents on desktop.

You will get a script error “Stop running the script?…  A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive.”

The issue seems to aggravate on pages with lots of content. Kontera is currently working on the issue and resolution is awaited at the time of writing the post.

Taking a Look at Homepage At the top, you have a Search Box where you can enter search query. In the Main Body, Top stories (Most talked about stories in Blog circle) are shown. Left side, you can select category to limit stories to a topic such as Technlogy or Sports. Every story has main story and related blog posts. If you click on main story, you would come to page to display all the related stories. On any page, you would see Subscribe links at the bottom of left panel. You can subscribe the stories in RSS feed. In the right panel, you can see search queries that are hot now. Below that Google has included recent posts.

Does it change anything for me?

Well, not much for now. The only difference you will probably notice is that you will not need any plugin to watch videos created in open video format. You needed plugins for other formats such as Flash.

Why is it needed then?

But, it would make huge difference to Video publishing sites. Open video format is completely free and open source technology. That means anybody can create and host video with the format completely free. That would encourage lot of new work without having to rely upon video sites such as YouTube.
