If you want to send free fax, Faxzero is the web service you can use.
All you need is an email id and Receiver’s fax number.
Things to keep in mind
- Free internet fax service is ad supported. So Receiver will see ads on cover page (Something to keep in mind if you are sending professional or business fax).
- Doc, PDF and Xls files are supported. You can also type text (or copy and paste) on the website.
- There is a limitation of maximum 3 pages per file and maximum 2 faxes per day.
- Only US and Canadian fax numbers are allowed.
Here is how it works.
Step1 - You enter your name, your email id, Reciever’s name and Reciever’s fax number on Faxzero.com. Upload your document (PDF, doc or xls). Enter confirmation code (very common these days to avoid spam). Send fax.
Step2 - After a while, you will get a confirmation email. Click on confirmation email (Faxzero will attempt to send, only when you click on the confirmation email).
Step3 – When your fax has been successfully sent, you will receive an email confirmation. If Faxzero failed to deliver your fax after 5 attempts, you will receive a delivery failure notification email. Check if you entered Receiver’s fax number correctly, if fax failed.

GotFreeFax.com is another website that lets user send free fax online to the US and Canada. User can either text or upload a PDF/Word file to fax. Plus, it does not add Ads to the fax, which makes it more suitable for faxing formal documents.
