If you are using a program in windows Vista that saves new files in Program files folder, you will not be able to find your files. The reason is that certain folders in Vista are writing protected. ‘Program files’ folder is one of such folders. Vista stores such files in a virtual folder and then maps these files to Program files folder.
If you saved a file or folder in C:/Program Files/YourProgram and not able to find it, check the folder C:\Users\YourUserid\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\YourProgram. You will find your newly created files here.
